My Books
I have written and published three eBooks about my world adventures.
My eBooks are travel biographies of the observations and experiences of a totally blind and partially deaf man as he travels independently around the world having exciting adventures. The most recent volume, Seeing a Slice of Southern Africa My Way, published 31 December 2020, is a journey of continued self-discovery as I plot my way from multi-cultural South Africa with its complex society, to Malawi, with its picturesque and peaceful nature. This third book takes the reader through parts of Southern Africa, and offers a brief glimpse into a little of Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Blog post / Self-Isolation Message (9th April 2020)
Easter is nearly upon us in the UK, the sun is out, the weather is nice and the forecast predicts a lovely weekend. Cricket should be being played and kids should be in the parks. But, please, please, please everybody, stay in your houses, apartments, gardens, balconies this weekend and the coming weeks ahead. It’s vital that we all follow the government guidelines; stay in and isolate ourselves from each other. This is the only way this terrible Coronavirus can be defeated and the nurses,

Blog post / Botswana and beyond (28th March 2020)
My journey around Botswana, country 125, began in Gaborone, the country’s capital! It’s much warmer and dryer than the UK! Relaxing in nice surroundings, birds chattering outside :). The trip began with a long flight to Joburg, South Africa, where I stayed with a lovely South African guy, Niel for a night. The following day it was an 8 hour bus ride to Botswana. People were friendly, kind and helped me cross the border, I didn’t even have to leave the bus!

Now in Gaborone, capital of Botswana (9th March 2020)
Dear all friends and followers, hope everyone is well. I’m now in Gaborone, capital of Botswana – country 125! It’s much warmer and dryer than the UK here! Relaxing in nice surroundings, birds chattering outside.
My trip began with a long flight to Joburg, South Africa, where I stayed with a lovely South African guy, Niel for a night. The following day it was an 8 hour bus ride to Botswana. People were friendly, kind and helped me cross the border, I didn’t even have to leave the bus! Immigration staff came to me! A Botswanian lady kindly helped me change money and 40 minutes after departing the border, I was in Botswana’s sprawling capital. I’m staying in a nearby village with a lovely lady from Zimbabwe.
I head north in a couple of days and begin exploring the nature. Warmest wishes to one and all, Tony the Traveller. Happy to be travelling again!
