My Books
I have written and published three eBooks about my world adventures.
My eBooks are travel biographies of the observations and experiences of a totally blind and partially deaf man as he travels independently around the world having exciting adventures. The most recent volume, Seeing a Slice of Southern Africa My Way, published 31 December 2020, is a journey of continued self-discovery as I plot my way from multi-cultural South Africa with its complex society, to Malawi, with its picturesque and peaceful nature. This third book takes the reader through parts of Southern Africa, and offers a brief glimpse into a little of Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Last week we had an amazing SOS campaign success when the Labour Party’s Shadow Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper MP, committed to supporting our national network of refuges in her Party Conference Speech. This was directly off the back of the SOS Campaign and an incredible win that we can all share.
Fundacja Imago Maris – sailing opportunities for blind and visually impaired people (21st August 2014)
Polish organisation offering sailing opportunities for blind and visually impaired people to participate alongside sighted crew members out at sea on tall sailing ships for an experience of a lifetime.
I has become an honorary patron and support this venture in helping visually impaired people to enjoy the sea and wind and notions of
working on a ship with all the varying experiences it can bring – an amazing opportunity to meet different people, gain greater confidence, improve skills and make friends. I salute this enterprise.

Blog post / Latvia (8th August 2014)
So my trip of five weeks in Eastern Europe is nearing its end. I’m in Riga, capital of Latvia. Riga is nice with a lively atmosphere and interesting ‘Old Town’ with many 18th-19th century buildings. I mainly relaxed enduring the 34 degrees C heat and sweating as I joined a walking tour around of the city’s more interesting streets and squares.
Before visiting Riga, I’d been in Liepaja, on Latvia’s coast. It’s one of the nicest beach cities I’ve visited and is home of rock music and other musical styles.
